Democracy at the point of a gun, is doomed to failure. The USA and Britians' attempt to "democratize" Iraq by using force will never work. Any successful political system must have it's roots in the internal aspirations of the people of said country or region, it can not be imposed by an outside force, or forces.
I use the analogy of Spain "freeing" the American colonies from the British, only to place American citizens loyal to crown of Spain in the government of the resulting fledgling country. Needless to say that I highly doubt the founding fathers of the USA would have ever put up with such a blatantly unfair, Pro Spanish, system of "democratic principles".
With the above stated; why should anyone expect the Iraqis to put up with a similar situation in their country?
